After the success of The Palace on Wheels, KSTDC (Karnataka National Tourism and Development Corporation) and IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in 2002 and launched Golden Chariot Luxury train to South India.
